Autumn has arrived in the northern hemisphere, and for us at EGU that means planning is well underway for the General Assembly in 2026! Continuing our commitment to offer an inclusive meeting, EGU26 will take place both on-site in Vienna, Austria, and virtually, on 3–8 May 2026.

As with last year, EGU26 Updates will be posted on the website and sent by email at least once per month – at the beginning of the month. In addition, conveners, authors, exhibitors, and attendees will receive instructional emails when tasks have a specific deadline, so make sure to check your email settings so that you don’t miss anything!

More information about the planned format and additional features of the EGU26 General Assembly will be available soon, but for now let’s kick off the EGU26 Monthly Updates with the important information you need to know about in October!

So, what do you need to do in October?
