Welcome to your April Update for the 2026 EGU General Assembly, to be held 3–8 May 2026, both on-site in Vienna, Austria, and virtually. This will be the last email update before the General Assembly, so let’s jump right in!

So, what do you need to do in April, before the meeting?

For conveners

  • The EGU26 Programme is now available online! Make sure you are planning your schedule for the week by populating your EGU26 personal programme.
  • Prepare for your session! Ensure you have delegated both an on-site and a virtual chairperson, and prepared your tasks for the session. Check the convener guidelines for more information. To see a walk-through of each format, watch this video so you know what to expect.
  • To access your session online, no links will be sent in advance to presenters on Zoom for any presentation format, all links will become available 15 minutes prior to the session on the session page.
  • You can contact your authors using the Mail Tool for any additional information you wish to convey before the meeting.
  • The OSPP nominator tool is open, session conveners need to ensure at least 3 judges are assigned to each OSPP presentation. Check the convener guidelines for more information.
  • Do not miss out on what is happening during the General Assembly, sign up to get the EGU's once daily highlights newsletter, EGU Today.
  • The EGU26 app is now available on Android and iOS stores, check the EGU26 website for more information.
  • If you have not already had your name badge mailed out to you (participants from most European countries could choose to receive their name badge by mail prior to the conference), avoid the queues by collecting your badge on Sunday, 3 May 2026, between 12.00 CEST and 20.00 CEST, at Hall X5 of the conference centre. This also gives you the most use of your free transport ticket for Sunday - Saturday, included with your name badge!
  • EGU organizes a reception on Friday, 8 May 2026, at 19:00 CEST to thank all our conveners and volunteers for their efforts during the meeting. You will receive full information about how to register in advance for this event by email during the week of the General Assembly, so keep an eye on your inbox!
  • Regular price registration and single day on-site tickets for EGU26 are available until the end of the conference (8 May 2026), but must be completed online. Registrations will not be purchasable on-site in Vienna, you can only collect badges. View all the registration fees and options on the EGU26 website and get your registration TODAY.
  • Childcare slots are now open for booking, but places are limited. For additional childcare support options, please visit the Childcare services page.
  • Have a question about being a session convener, running a Union Symposium (US) or Great Debate (GDB), or holding a Short Course (SC)? Find the answers on the EGU26 website!
